Abstract
Otosclerosis is a bone disorder of the otic capsule that generates hearing loss when affecting the stapes footplate. The standard treatment is stapedostomy or stapedectomy with the installation of a prosthesis. Among the complications of the procedure is the perilymphatic gusher, which is the release of perilymph outflow through the platinostomy immediately after the opening of the vestibule. The preoperative imaging study contributes to its suspicion and helps plan the intervention, with the most frequent alteration detected being the dilation of the internal auditory canal. In this report we present a case of perilymphatic gusher in a patient with a computed tomography scan with alterations not previously described in the literature and its management.
